Wrenching on the ST1100
Mark Frost (the host and head mechanic),
invited Ed Krugman and myself to his home for a day of wrenching on the
ST1100. On the agenda was a rear end rebuild
on Mark’s machine and a carb sync and radiator flush/service on Ed and my
bikes. Also on the agenda was an engine
mount re-torque on my machine to try and solve an annoying 4000 RPM vibe in the
handlebars.
All missions were accomplished and a good
time was had by all. FYI, the engine
mount re-torque did address 80% of my vibration issue – my bike has only 4K
miles on it and a new set of tires may do the trick for the other 20%.
Below are some photos from our day of
maintenance….

This is the most plastic I

The hose is ready in case we spray coolant on the bikes (we didn’t). |
